Sorry I keep posting new threads, but it just means that I really like your plugin.
One of our goals with our directory is to make it universal yet tailored to individual businesses. You guys really hit the nail on the head with your real estate and automobile addons. Would you be willing to make another addon for restaurants/bars? It would be amazing for restaurants to be able to add a food/drink menu to listings.

Yes, we have thought about a restaurant menu addon. In fact, there are several niche market addons that we would like to create including, jobs, bookstore, pets, ecommerce and bidding. We are working on ways to share the development options and letting the community vote on whats most important. To be honest, we really hoped that other developers would create their own addons and make money on our open platform. Our marketing team is working on ways to publicize our interest in partnering with plugin and theme makers, so things could change drastically for 2015. Until that starts happening, we are committed to extending and monopolizing the product line.

We are at an interesting stage of growth. The need to create new Niche market addons like restaurants, is now glaringly obvious. However, growth has hurdles that we have been forced to address over the past month. For example, our new BePro Software Updates plugin simplifies the way you update products purchased on BeProSoftware.com. Also note that its now easier than ever to setup and configure BePro Listings

A general eta for development to restart on new products would be late January. If interested in seeing a particular product sooner, you could always hire us to develop one for you. Also be sure to consider our, subscription options, newsletter and/or twitter for insights into product development

how much would you charge to develop the restaurant addon. the others you mentioned arent really “directory” features.

or

how much to add a field to every listing where I or the user can insert a shortcode to display extra content? This would be the easiest temporary fix as i already know of a great menu plugin that allows unlimited menus and displays them with shortcodes. for now they can just submit a menu pdf and ill create the menu in wordpress and give them the shortcode to enter into the field.

We would need details regarding your functionality expectations to provide a quote for the restaurant menu addon. The plugin we have been planning will take approx 25-30 hours to launch, integrating with, BePro Cart, Form Builder and a few other plugins.

The second option is a lot simpler and we have seen variations requested before, like the following demo

We have received requests for, ad placement, menu’s and other misc features to fill that free space left unused by the one column layout. As you can see from the demo above, the map component is custom and responsive. So it can be done, the question is implementation

We do not expose custom fields to front end users. We also don’t recommend giving users the ability to place shortcodes on your website (security issue). Something simple that allows you as the admin, to place the shortcode via a custom field would be 3hrs. Something involving the customer would necessitate involving the form builder addon and would be around 6hrs of wordpress development
